Honourable Jibrilla Moijueh of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), representing Bonthe District, has said that the SLPP under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio “is serious about the Feed Salone project”.
He was responding to a Member of Parliament from the All People’s Congress (APC) representing Bombali who had claimed that President Bio had been promising the people of Sierra Leone “Feed Salone for six years”.
Hon. Moijueh countered that “the Feed Salone project is just one year old” and that it was last year in October that the project was introduced in Pujehun District. He stated that if the project fails, it would not only be Pujehun or Bonthe District that would suffer but “all Sierra Leoneans in the country.”
He added that all Sierra Leoneans must pray for the project to succeed and called on MPs from both sides of the aisle “to think national and come together to build Sierra Leone”.
Hon. Moijueh made those statements last Thursday in the well of parliament during the fourth allotted days of the debate on President Bio’s speech during the state opening of parliament.
