At the JK Banquets Hall in London, Mohamed Omodu Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, called for unity and progress within the All People’s Congress (APC) and broader Sierra Leonean society.

He stressed the importance of transcending political and social barriers to achieve national prosperity. “The APC party symbolizes not only a political entity but also a beacon of hope for all Sierra Leoneans striving for development and economic advancement,” he noted.

He was speaking as the guest of honour at the “Ladies at Work” fundraising event on Saturday. The event, aimed at empowering women and supporting vulnerable community members, saw a significant turnout including the Jagaban UK Team, the USA Women Leader, and the Global PRO.

In a stirring opening, attendees were serenaded with the song “We Are the World,” setting a unified tone for the evening.

Mr Kamara, in his keynote speech, praised the mission of Ladies at Work, highlighting the profound impact of empowering women on economic and social development. “When women are empowered, entire communities flourish,” he asserted, underscoring the necessity of uplifting the most vulnerable sectors of society to foster a prosperous future.

The highlight of the evening was Mr Kamara’s generous donation of US$10,000 to support the ongoing projects of Ladies at Work. His contribution was acknowledged with a plaque, symbolizing the appreciation and respect he garnered from the organization and attendees.

The event ended with fans approaching Jagaban for photos, handshakes, and hugs, a testament to his influential presence and the resonance of his message of unity and empowerment.

Jagaban’s visit not only underscored his commitment to social causes but also reinforced his stature as a pivotal figure in fostering community cohesion and advocating for women’s roles in societal advancement.

As he departed from the event, the echoes of his call for a united effort towards a brighter future for Sierra Leone reverberated among all present.
