As part of its cooperate social responsibility, Dong Tai Stone Mining Company (SL) Ltd has donated to the Rochen Kamandao community, Tonkolili District in northern Sierra Leone, 20 sets of street solar lights—each costing US$200.

The Dong Tai Stone Mining Company (SL) Ltd’s interpreter, Jack Yu, disclosed that their electrification of the Rochen Kamandao community, where they are currently operating, was to strengthen the relationship between them and their hosts

Councillor Abdulai Sesay of Constituency 048 in Yonimamaila Chiefdom, in Tonkolili District, told The Nationalist newspaper that as part of the land lease agreement, the mining company agreed to electrify the community to help school going children to study effectively through the use of solar lights.

At the donation and installation ceremony, a Member of Parliament representing Tonkolili District, Hon. Aaron Aruna Koroma, stated that he was happy that speakers after speakers commended Dong Tai Stone Mining Company (SL) Ltd for fulfilling one of its promises and also for carrying out its cooperate social responsibilities in Rochen Kamandao community.
