Despite he does not state the main reason for his resignation as Deputy National Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC) in his “Press Statement” of 12 March 2025; Honourable Osman Timbo leaves traces of his next intention when he states that, “…I believe that stepping down from this position will help maintain the integrity of the Secretariat and ensure a fair and level playing field for all”.
Though he is still not clear what his next steps will be; he cloudily let the cat out of the bag when he states that, “I will focus on my next steps and look forward to engaging with party members, stakeholders, and the general public in the coming days and weeks. In the next few weeks, I will inform the nation about my next steps”.
That has been the sort of template of most—if not all—intending APC Flagbearer contenders. Sources close to Hon. Osman Timbo told The Nationalist newspaper last night that, “Hon. Timbo is going to run for the APC Flagbearer position in the 2026 National Delegates’ Conference.”
Another source said, “He is a principled person with an unblemished record, and he has won the hearts of many, not just with his intellect, but also with his unshakable belief in the power of the people”.
