Zoodlabs, a company once touted for bringing “high speed internet services” after it took control of the country’s Cable Landing Station from the Sierra Leone Cable Company (SALCAB), has agreed to pay back US$760,000.00 it owed to the Government of Sierra Leone following an agreement with the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

The Agreement, according to PAC, was reached during its seventh sitting in which a resolution for a monthly payment of US$60,000, beginning January 2025, to offset these liabilities binding on the Agreement with the Government of Sierra Leone.

The Chairman of PAC and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, praised Audit Service Sierra Leone (ASSL) who unearthed the missing money for doing a good job for the people and Government of Sierra Leone.

After the resolution was taken, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh directed PAC’s Secretariat to communicate the resolution to Zoodlabs and also tell them to communicate any monthly payment to PAC for records and to tally its evidence of recovery.

He also underscored that under the Contract Agreement, Zoodlabs had settled some of its outstanding liabilities and that the acceptable payment plan was favourable to keep them in business.
