The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has accepted to be the keynote speaker at the official launch of the Sierra Leone Broadcasters’ Association (SiLBA) scheduled to take place at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown on 4 July 2024.
The launch is expected to be presided over by Umaru Fofana, the BBC reporter in Freetown.
Established in 2022, SiLBA emerges as a beacon of progress and advocacy in the realm of broadcast media, spearheading efforts to fulfill the critical need for a national umbrella association dedicated to safeguarding the rights, promoting the interests, and enhancing the welfare of broadcasters across Sierra Leone.
With a membership of 55 radio stations nationwide, SiLBA stands poised to revolutionize the landscape of the electronics media through its commitment to professionalism, unity, and excellence.
Stanley Bangura Jr., the Chairman of the Association, expressed his excitement for the upcoming launch. He emphasized SiLBA’s commitment to foster a climate of cooperation, innovation, and growth within the broadcasting sector.
“At SiLBA, our vision is centered on creating an environment where broadcasters and electronics media institutions can thrive, addressing their needs and collective interests while championing the highest level of professional standards,” remarked Stanley Bangura Jr.
