A team from the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), including the Agency’s Director of Licensing and Inspections Jayah K. Muana, yesterday sealed-off and suspended the Conex fuel station at Grafton for allegedly selling fuel above the official price.
The dealer will be fined NLe50,000 for grossly violating the industry’s established rules and regulations, while PRA will continue to take all measures to deter public extortion and selling above the regulated pump prices.
The sealing-off and suspension of fuel stations, when they violate the industry’s regulations, are meant to achieve a culture where oil operators will put the public interest first and act in line with their license obligations.
