Africell Sierra Leone launched another promotional campaign for its subscribers nationwide on 31 July 2023.

A former housekeeper and a petty trader, Madam Saudatu Koroma, was called on Friday 4 August 2023 and informed that she had won “Africell Mega Promo” with a brand-new TVS Motorbike and was told to come to Africell’s Wilberforce headquarters, west of the capital, on Monday 7 August 2023 to collect her winning.

According to Madam Saudatu Koroma, when she was called by Africell she informed her husband and the neighbourhood that she had won a TVS motorbike. But she said some of her neighbours said it might be a fake call.

Madam Saudatu Koroma disclosed that she was discouraged at first but when one Madam Nancy Toure of Africell later called her again on Sunday night informing her to come to Africell’s office at Wilberforce at 9 a.m. on Monday 7 August 2023, she knew it was real.

“But I was still discouraged based on an early story I got from my neighbours about scams. But they [the neighbours] told me to take along someone when going to the office for any eventuality; so I decided to take along my eldest son,” she disclosed.

During the presentation of the TVS Motorbike Abdul Aziz Kamara, who acted as the Master of Ceremony, emphasized the opportunities or different prizes they had in store for their subscribers. He encouraged their subscribers to continue buying NLe10 recharge on a daily basis as this would enhance subscribers’ chances of winning the different categories of prizes they had, including the Suzikey cars, TVS Motorbikes, and cash prizes which he said people were winning on a daily basis.

Abdul Aziz Kamara said that with the 24 TVS bikes, one bike was won each week and one car each month. He noted that the promotion would last for a six-month period and that it would in January 2024.

However, Mr  John Konteh confirmed that the only Africell number that subscribers must adhere to whenever they were called for a win was: 077 777-777, and that the public must as well be informed that Africell would never tell their winners to send recharge cards or demand for anything before releasing their surprised package to the fortunate winner (s).

In inclusion, Madam Saudatu Koroma praised Africell for their timely Mega Promo. “As a mother of four children, I was a housekeeper before, but I was sacked last December and I have been at home doing some petty business. With this Motorbike, which I have won, I will look for someone reliable to be riding it for us so that the money could be used to educate my children of which two of them have sat to the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE),” she said.
