A report by the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA), in which it claims that the June 24 multi-tier elections were “peaceful, free and fair”, has been damned by many senior citizens who note that that is far from what actually happened during the electoral processes.

Considering the fact that the June 24 elections were fraught with “statistical inaccuracies”, coupled with the Carter Center observers’ observation that the tabulation process “lacked adequate levels of transparency”, many citizens told the Nationalist newspaper that they were shocked to see such a skewed elections report from SLBA.

“That report from the Sierra Leone Bar Association is not only unfair to those voters who were chased out of their homes and communities and were unable to cast their ballot but very disingenuous in itself”, said one political pundit to this newspaper.

Some citizens are now accusing SLBA of being one of the accomplices to “the stolen votes”, and that they have now joined the bandwagon of image-launderers of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
