Leaders and senior members of eight political parties, which are part of the Consortium of Progressive Political Parties (CoPPP), on Thursday declare their support for the All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara and his running-mate, Hon. Chernor Maju Bah, at the Robert Hall at Robert Street in central Freetown.
CoPPP comprises members from the following parties: Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Coalition for Change (C4C), Centre Democratic Party (CDP), NPD, People’s Democratic Party (PDP-Sorbeh), People’s Liberation Party (PLP), People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), and the Unity Party.
It could be recalled that in September 2021, representatives of 13 political parties committed themselves to harness the collective strength of their various political parties through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and use available resources to oppose, reject and condemn bad governance, all violations of the rule of law and the rights of citizens in the country.
Before the formal signing of those political parties the representatives, with approval from their various parties, agreed to explore every opportunity to further tighten collaboration as opposition parties into a union that will generate a common electoral agenda.
