The former Member of Parliament for Constituency 96 now deputy Regional Chairman of the Western region, Hon. Alhassan Kamara, has told the East District executive members of the All People’s Congress (APC) that during the 11 years rebel war in Sierra Leone, citizens were able to live a decent life than now under the Bio-led administration.
Hon. Alhassan Kamara added that President Bio had crippled the country’s economy.
He made these statements on Tuesday at the Eastern Paddies, east of the capital, where he and his executive highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of the Proportional Representation (PR) System which was introduced by the current government despite the main opposition kicked against it.
Hon. Alhassan Kamara noted that during the war there was enough food and “we did not hear any situation wherein hunger took centre stage to the point that a nuclear family could hardly secure a meal per day”.
He informed the gathering that Sierra Leoneans made a mistake in 2018 by electing a leader whose only achievement was just to violate some of the fundamental human rights of peaceful citizens by using security forces to unleash terror on them.
The former Constituency 96 MP encouraged all executive members of the East District to mobilize their constituents to collect their voter ID Cards, commencing on Friday 7 April 2023, in order to vote out the SLPP government on the first round.
