The Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Dr Abass Chernor Bundu, yesterday pleaded to Members of Parliament to pay attention to parliamentary work and that they should endeavour to come for sittings and on time.
The Speaker disclosed that unpunctuality had now taken over that to even have a quorum was difficult, thereby impeding the business of the House of Parliament.
Hon. Dr Abass Bundu stated that in as much as the activities of the House were weaning it should not be a norm that every sitting they had to suspend the Standing Orders (SO 5, 2,) because of lack of a quorum.
He concluded by imploring all MPs to turn around such an ugly situation but took consideration of the main opposition, the All People’s Congress (APC), ongoing lower level elections and wished them all the best of luck.
